    Responsibilities

    Overall Function

    EDF's Office of the Chief Economist is seeking a qualified and motivated student for its Fall internship. The Economic Policy Intern will assist Economists in EDF's Office of the Chief Economist in developing and analyzing energy markets through research, data analysis, and assistance with writing internal reports.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide data analytics on a large database on residential energy use
    • Provide timely in-house economic analyses
    • Assist in writing reports on economic issues
    • Provide analytics support through internet and library research

    Qualifications

    • Excellent command of the programming language R
    • Highly proficient in MS Word and Excel
    • Undergraduate or graduate student with economics background (economics major or related discipline preferred)
    • Interest in public policy and advocacy, particularly energy and environment
    • Exceptional organizational skills--must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and critical deadlines
    • Excellent research skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently

     

    This position is part-time (10-20 hours per week).  The application should include a description of previous experience working in programming language R.
