    Responsibilities

    Overall Function:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Senior Specialist, Intern and Fellow Program Manager will develop, manage, and maintain all aspects of EDF's Intern/Fellowship Program.  The Sr. Specialist will support all departments in securing the best available diverse talent, expand resources to support programs, provide a recognized education for future environmentalists, and develop stronger relationships with academic institutions. The role is high volume and busy during the spring/summer months with onboarding and Intern Program Management.

     

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Manage the EDF Internship/Fellows Program - onboarding, funding and recruitment from job sites and university programs
    • Draft job descriptions, screen/interview/evaluate candidates, perform reference checks,  extend offers, and complete all required forms and documentation for new hires
    • Oversee management of the EDF Intern Ambassadors, including recruiting of ambassadors, designating team leaders, and managing the event budget
    • Develop structure (strategies, policies and procedures) that identifies EDF as an employer of choice
    • Identify opportunities for increased effectiveness of diversity outreach recruiting programs
    • Build, cultivate and expand relationships with academic institutions
    • Attend career fairs, etc. as appropriate to develop EDF's brand as necessary
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop a structured support program that includes brown bag lunches, specific training sessions and lunches with our President, Fred Krupp
    • Assess management and program feedback, review exit survey results and incorporate program recommendations to enhance/streamline programs and identify/implement efficiencies
    • Conduct onboarding and offboarding requirements for all interns and fellows
    • Extend Intern or Fellow contracts as need and make job description changes
    • Utilize HRIS and applicant tracking system (i.e. Workday, iCIMS)
    • Keep abreast of current EEO guidelines, human resources legislation and regulations, as well as changes in the human resources field
    • Assist with other HR-related tasks as assigned

     

    Qualifications 

    • Minimum of 4+ years' experience supporting high volume recruiting in a fast paced HR environment/Academic Program management experience a plus
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, related field or equivalent work experience
    • Interviewing skills and placement
    • Experience using tactical and administrative skills for an internship program or other academic program
    • Experience with managing budgets/funding allocations
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
    • Expert administrative and organization skills
    • Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of HRIS and applicant tracking systems 
    • Interest in EDF's mission and business objectives preferred
